How to Remove the Border around Text Boxes

When you create a text box in Word, you’ll notice that is automatically creates a thin black border around the box. Many people want to know how to change or remove this border. 

To change (or remove) the border, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click on the text box and select Format Text Box.
  2. Choose the Color drop-down menu. In this example, we’ve selected red.

  3. Click OK to save the settings.  

    Tip: Click No Line if you want an invisible border around the box.
